Schwarz-a-gonner

No repeat for Christos Xanthopolous
Tomas Schwarz is the latest casualty to put a dent in a few Fantasy Poker teams but he will consider himself unlucky not to be back in contention after being eliminated with 55 vs 22.

Having let his stack dwindle to 15,000 chips, it was inevitable he would be called light so he must have been delighted to see his rival's smaller pocket pair - only to have a third deuce hit the turn.

Also departing in the last hour was Christos Xanthopolous. The former ParadisePoker Tour champ had been a short stack all day and he couldn't muster the surge required to turn his fortunes around. In the end, his 10-10 was cracked by AQ.

Other Day 2 victims include George Eleftheriades, despite the Greek returning to the Hyatt Regency Casino with the second largest stack at the start of play.

The last hand was certainly an explosive one, with a small pot exploding when a 7 river completed the A89-4 board. All the money went in and while the former big stack showed down a set of 7s, he was bettered by the J10 of his opponent.
