Not Haigh's day

Robert Haigh's grind of a day has come to an end in the final hour of play, as he finally succumbed to his short stack after a challenging day.

Restricted by a cold deck for much of the afternoon, Haigh had maintained his starting stack but lost a sizeable pot before eventually losing out in a pre-flop race with AJ vs QQ.

The crippling hand had been versus an aggressive player who first three-bet the German ParadisePoker Tour regular, then fired on each street on a Q97-K-x board.

Haigh showed 89s but was out-kicked by A9, which left him with the 5,000 stack which lost the later race for his tournament life.
