Alibas flopped the nut straight and got paid off

ParadisePoker Tour regular Salim Alibas was in fine mood going into the break - even though the final hand left him with only a short while to relax.

The German player had raised from late position and gone to the final flop of the session heads-up against the big blind.

The dealer flipped 9♦K♠J♦ and his rival led out into the raiser, only for Salim to raise it up again.

After a spell in the tank, the big blind shipped the remains of his relative short stack and was snapped off by the hero of our tale - who showed Q♦10♠ for the nut straight.

The man at risk ruefully turned over 10♦10♣ and accepted his fate as no further help arrived.

Alibas now boasts around 55,000 chips.
