Roman's empire grows before dinner

In the very last hand before we go on our hour-long dinner break, Roman Studýnka flashed the same fearless aggression that earned him what we think is the chip lead.

The Czech player had raised two hands in a row before pumping up the pre-flop action once more with the buffet calling. He was called by one rival and raised by another, but refused to back down.

His pre-flop 4-bet was called by one of his out of position rivals and the flop fell A♠6♦3♦. A continuation bet was enough to secure the pot after his opponent checked, but it didn't stop Studýnka's turning over 10♠2♠ for stone cold bluff.

The PP blog estimates his stack is now 250,000 chips high and with the average around 95,000, there seem to be few towers around that could challenge for the chip lead.

Ghofrani Far also picked up a big pot before heading off to eat, as his KK held up after all the money went in on a 46J flop.

His villain showed 57 for an open-ended straight draw, but couldn't connect to stay alive in the tournament. Far's stack is now around 160,000.

  2. Official chip counts hard to come by but will get you a selected one from time to time. Hope that's ok!
