Champion call lifts Huspeka

2010 champ Huspeka made
a fine hero call
David Huspeka is out to prove his 2010 victory in PPT Prague was no fluke and given recent evidence, it seems the young Czech is on track.

Often involved in a pot when we visit his table at the far end of the room, our former champion was facing a bet of 17,400 on the river with the board reading K♦2♥10♣-5♣-6♠ when the PP blog arrived.

After much careful thought, he committed the chips to good effect, showing 9s to beat the busted straight draw of his opponent. Can he continue his form as we edge closer to the money?

A big call proved the wrong decision for Mikkel Bergmann, however, as the Dane lost a sizeable pot versus the all-in of a female villain.

Bergmann flipped AJ after making the call on a draw-laden A♣2♣3♠ board, but his rival joyfully turned over a set and watched with glee as it held up. Mikkel has just 23,000 chips after that hand.
