Chip counts at the break

Kovacs will not repeat his Barca final table appearance
We're just returning to the action at the King's Casino, with level six about to start biting 150/300 chunks off the blinds, and we dashed round the room to bring you a selected chip count.

We also picked up a few stories along the way, with Mikkel Bergmann telling the happiest tale after running hot throughout the Main Event so far.

"I'm on about 52,000 and I've been hitting everything. I must have had four sets, two flushes and two straights - so my table really hate me!" grinned the Dane.

Day 1 has not been so kind to Joszef Kovacs and Miguel Rato, with both men making their exits before the last interval. Kovacs departed on the very final hand, running his mystery hole cards into AK and seeing a 5♥2♠J♥-6♦-K♠ board end his tournament life.

Selected Chip Count
Mikkel Bergmann - 52,000
Mikkel Oleson - 40,000
Carlos Oliveira - 30,000
Joao Brito - 23,000
Srini Thavarajah - 22,000
Daniel Ferrera - 22,000
Paulo Calado - 16,000
Hugo Almeida - 9,000
