Meisner calls prove costly

Meisner has been in the
thick of the action
Vitezslav Meisner has certainly not shied away from a big call so far at PPT Prague but his last two decisions might leave him ruing the bravery.

First up he took on chip leader Pietr Sowinski, raising from middle position and getting called by the Pole in the big blind. Unpeturbed, he c-bet the Q high flop but slowed down on the turn when Sowinski called again.

The river 8♣ roused the usually aggressive big stack into action, reaching for a 119,000 bet which after much thought, Meisner called. He swiftly mucked on seeing his Pietr's AQ, however.

Next it was the turn of Ertan Aldikacti to join the sparring and the Turkish player showed no fear in building a big pot, check-raising Vitezslav on a K♠5♣9♣ flop.

The 6♣ on the turn was a loaded card yet still Meisner felt confident enough to call the 238,000 shove that followed. Again it proved a painful ending, as his Turkish foe turned over 69 for two pair.
