Mixed fortunes for poker press

Jachtmann has nearly double the average stack
Jan-Peter Jachtmann propelled himself into big stack territory care of a monster flop just a few moments ago, which saw him drag in nearly double the average.

The poker journalist, who edits hit German publication Pokerblatt, had three-bet Pawel Zawadowicz's  pre-flop raise to 2,200 and earned a call with his Q♣Q♠.

The flop was a dream, coming 3♣3♠Q♥ and both men checked. The 7♠ turn and 2♣ prompted a pair of bets from Bachman and his Polish rival gave much thought to it before calling. It allowed Jurgen to flip the nuts in glee, with Zawadowicz cursing the decision.

"I showed a bluff earlier," revealed Jurgen, "So perhaps that played a part in his decision."

Elsewhere there was less positive news for PPT Prague champion 2011, Radoslav Prucha, who made his move at the wrong time.

The Czech, who also runs a poker magazine in his home country, shoved a J high board with Q high - only for his opponent to snap call with Aces.

We now have 178 players remaining as we go on our final short break. Upon their return our players will battle it out for two more levels before calling it a day.

  1. It's not Juergen Bachmann, it's Jan Peter Jachtmann !
