Austrian Victory Met with Apathy in the Cardroom

There are four big TV screens suspended above the tournament area, one at each end of the smoking and non-smoking rooms respectively (have to say, I feel a bit sorry for the guys in the smoking room - it's so foggy you can barely see across the room), and they've been showing the football all night. Our home nation Austria of course just now enjoyed a resounding win against Azerbaijan in the Euro 2012 qualifiers - but it is a sign of how thoroughly international this field is that the crushing victory raised barely a cheer from the mostly non-Austrian poker players. We're guessing from the absence of weeping as well that if we have any Azerbaijani players, they are also a minority.
