The hand was not without controversy, though.
A brief preflop raising war between Kleindienst in the cutoff and the gentleman in the small blind resulted in them both sticking in 11,000 and seeing a 2s Js 8d flop. The small blind gentleman checked and Kleindienst bet 20,000 before Mr. SB attempted to raise to 30,000. He was corrected, and it stood as a min-raise to 40,000. Kleindienst asked how much he had (A = 200k at the start of the hand) and then flat-called.
They proceeded to the Jh turn and this time Mr. SB bet out 55,000. Kleindienst tanked for a little while, and then announced all in to cover Mr. SB.
Then it all went a little weird. Mr. SB had been tanking for perhaps a couple minutes when a table over in the side event called for the clock. As though this had given him an idea, Kleindienst now called time on Mr. SB. Duly the TD was called and the countdown commenced.
After maybe 40 seconds, Mr. SB folded, but he wasn't happy at all. He muttered some probably unsavoury and definitely ill-tempered things in broken English, the only one of which we could decipher was what sounded like, "F***ing unfair player."
Yikes. Nevertheless Kleindienst remained impassive, and he is our current chip leader.
