En route to Rio

Our players have just arrived at the Rio and are bracing themselves to take on a sizeable field in the WSOP Event #32.

The $1500 NLHE Event is expected to drag in a huge field that is likely to surpass the 3,097 our ParadisePoker's package winners faced in 2010.

This year's crop will be hoping to emulate their success however, as regular blog readers will recall Johan 'Dusty_Rat' Jakobsson claimed an incredible 9th-place finish and $53,892 in prize money.

Dusty (pictured) returns this year for an attempt at back-to-back cashes, along with another impressive performer from 12 months ago - Tom Garland.

The sole UK player won $7,860 for a 65th-place effort and has returned in positive mood: "Last year gave me so much confidence that I've actually turned semi-pro since then.

"I play a lot of tournaments these days so I'm really looking forward to this one, and hopefully I can make another deep run!"

ParadisePoker Tour League leader Robert Haigh joins PPT London 2010 winner Christos Xanthopoulos and other PPT regulars Bastian Bluem, Christian Schulz and David Pishvafar in a strong ParadisePoker line-up.

We can also boast a host of high stakes pros in our armoury this time around, with Cort Kibler-Melby, Robert Norberg and Alexander Hanell frequenting the biggest games around.
