An old friend departs

Luis at the WSOP in 2010
We have a full cardroom once again in Barcelona as dinner has drawn to a close, but we're without one familiar face to long-time blog readers.

Luis Rufas was part of Team Paradise 2010, as we braved Vegas for WSOP poker and a little more 18 months ago.

The Spanish player made the money on Day 2 of the $1500 NLHE Event, but he could not repeat the trick this time around.

Cracked Aces were his downfall as a persistent villain eventually caught up on the river and left Luis to drown in defeat.

The board had come 10x-7&hearts:-4♥ when Luis pushed out a pot-size bet, followed by a second barrel on the 3♠ turn. It wasn't enough to put off his opponent mind, who ensnared a river 10♠ to catch trips with Q10. Ouch.
